Dalhousie’s Vice-President Finance and Administration is responsible for a range of university services including Financial Services, Treasury, Human Resources, Facilities Management (including capital construction), Information Technology, Environmental Health and Safety, Ancillary Services, Athletics and Sustainability. A member of the leadership team reporting to the President and working closely in partnership with the Provost and the Vice-President Research, this Vice-President supports Dalhousie’s academic, teaching and research mission and strategic direction through planning, directing and overseeing the administrative and business functions of the university. The Vice-President Finance and Administration is responsible for coordinating and managing the university’s operating and capital budgets and for safeguarding and optimizing return on the university’s assets; financial and human resources; and operating, capital, research and other revenues and expenditures annually.
As the ideal candidate, you bring advanced education and/or professional credentials, along with leadership experience within a diverse portfolio of functions and in organizations with complex governance structures and broadly accountable contexts. You have demonstrated that you are innovative and able to envision and introduce new ideas, systems, processes and programs. You possess the strategic acumen and global thinking to enable you to set your sights on the horizon, to understand the goals of the university and to translate them into plans that support the university’s mission, allow students, faculty and staff to realize their goals, and ensure Dalhousie’s sustainability in the broadest sense. You are service, solutions and systems focused and are passionate about how you and your team can collaborate with and support others in the pursuit of the academic, teaching and research mission of the university.
