Your new company

This boutique consultancy were early adopters of taking Valuations out of wider service firms and investing in it as a specialism in its own right. With a well-established and loyal client base, a strategic transaction of their own has yielded further investment, enabling them to not only take more market share but develop new specialisms at the same time.
They are adept in consulting many scenarios, just a few of which include:

  • Fairness opinions
  • Intangibles and Intellectual Property
  • Transfer Pricing, Royalties and IP Antitrust
  • Private Equity and Structured Finance
  • Debt Restructuring
  • PPAs
  • Tax valuations (private clients, incentive plans, share issues etc)
  • Securitisation/Restructuring of intangible assets
  • M&A/ Transactions
and many more

Your new role
This would suit a Valuations specialist who enjoys both the technical aspects of their work, yet also wants to grow their own profile through new business development.
Day to day, the responsibilities include:

  • Preparing Valuation reports for peer review by other directors to include:
  • Company and business valuations and shareholdings
  • Intangible Asset (IA) valuations including brands, trademarks, patents, customer intangibles and copyrights
  • Providing technical support and training for other valuers
  • Managing and mentoring a small team of associate valuers and support staff
  • Managing time and billings so that work is carried out in an efficient manner
  • Liaising and working with in-house Intangible Asset Management team

There is an opportunity to take on the mantle of key Technical Expert at your level in the firm, but equally if preferred to be empowered to implement your own new business development strategies and ideas.

What you'll need to succeed
ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualified
· Minimum 4-5 years of valuation experience.
· Experience working in a accountancy or consulting practice with clients
· Team player who enjoys working in a small team.
· Experience of dealing with foreign clients and willingness to travel overseas where required
· Knowledge and experience of intangible assets (IA) especially brands and trademarks and accounting standards in relation to IA.

Additionally experience within Forensic/Expert work, or industry experience within FS or Media/Ents would be a value-add to this position.
