Your new company

This boutique consultancy were early adopters of taking Valuations out of wider service firms and investing in it as a specialism in its own right. With a well-established and loyal client base, a strategic transaction of their own has yielded further investment, enabling them to not only take more market share but develop new specialisms at the same time.
They are adept in consulting many scenarios, just a few of which include:

  • Fairness opinions
  • Intangibles and Intellectual Property
  • Transfer Pricing, Royalties and IP Antitrust
  • Private Equity and Structured Finance
  • Debt Restructuring
  • PPAs
  • Tax valuations (private clients, incentive plans, share issues etc)
  • Securitisation/Restructuring of intangible assets
  • M&A/ Transactions
    and many more

    Your new role
    Full training will be given, but here's just a sample of what you'll be learning and performing:

    Preparing and assist with Valuation Reports for peer review by other directors, including:
  • Company and business valuations and shareholdings - contentious and non-contentious Intangible Asset (IA) valuations including brands, trademarks, patents, customer intangibles and copyrights
  • Applying valuation techniques and advanced valuation models e.g., Black Scholes, Monte Carlo, Gordon Growth and similar
  • Managing time and billings
  • Providing technical support (e.g., excel, Xero) and in due course training for junior valuers and analysts
  • Liaising and working with Intangible Asset Management team
  • Royalty Rate advice generally and in Transfer Pricing appraisals
  • Business Development to expand business, pitching new projects including fee estimate negotiation
  • Articles in financial and IP/Legal media and contributions to VC's Newswire
  • Preparing and Reviewing reports and models prepared by colleagues,
  • Being a secondary client contact point and undertaking client meetings UK and worldwide
  • Form part of our team developing streamlined on line in house proprietary valuation templates

What you'll need to succeed
The firm are happy to look at newly/recently qualified ACA/ACCA's from Practice, whose training background will have been in one of these disciplines:

  • Corporate Tax
  • Audit/assurance (especially FS assurance which has included Private Equity clients)
  • Corporate Advisory

If you happen to already have any exposure to Intangible Asset matters that's a bonus, but not essential. Also if you have experience of acting for industries that Venture Capitalists typically invest in, that's a desirable too.
