The Opportunity
Deloitte New Zealand's National Tax team is widely regarded as experts and leaders in their field. We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our Auckland based National Tax team. You will be an experienced tax professional wanting to take the next step in your career with a leading brand.

As a Tax Manager, you will enjoy and thrive leading others and supporting them to make an impact that matters and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service. Your clients will be the Tax Partners and staff of Deloitte New Zealand. You will demonstrate sales and practice development, with the opportunity to make a real contribution to the growth of our successful national team. 

During your tenure as a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and planning most relevant content, including liaising within National Tax and our tax teams based across New Zealand, liaising with product owners, designing training materials and drafting both internally and externally focused publications.

You will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas:

  • Acting as a role model and recognizing others for the impact they make.

  • Delivering exceptional client service; maximising results and driving high performance from people while fostering collaboration across the business.

  • Influencing clients, teams, and individuals positively, leading by example and establishing confident relationships with senior people.

  • Applying knowledge of current and pending tax legislation.

  • Fact based decision making by using the appropriate research techniques and skills.

  • Improving work efficiency, effectiveness and client service by using common technology tools.

  • Advising on a wide range of business tax matters and responsibility for creating monthly training materials.

 

About You

To be considered for this position, you will ideally possess the following skills and attributes:

  • 6 years+ work experience in a corporate tax environment.

  • A professional qualification in law or accounting.

  • A strong understanding of end to end tax processes & the NZ tax environment.

  • Excellent team player and proven leadership and management skills.

  • Results driven, client & detail oriented.

  • Ability to demonstrate management flair, drive and identify business development opportunities.

  • A drive to develop people and grow their career.

  • Experience in developing and delivering effective training materials.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
