An opportunity within a regional leading, proactive and highly regarded firm of Somerset chartered accountants, has arisen for a career focused all round, accounts/ tax and general accountancy practice professional at Senior Manager level to join this team in a role offering genuine progression. You will be based in their nr Taunton offices.
The firm has an excellent reputation across Somerset, the wider South West, UK and further afield, for providing quality services and added value project work to its varied client base across sole trader, partnerships and ltd companies, OMBs SMEs in varied industries, very wide ranging in size.
With a a strategy focused on growth and with succession to plan for within the firm, the partners are looking for the right individual who can develop the firm and progress with a clear route to director/partner level on offer, in a reasonable and negotiable, short term timescale, in this leading accountancy practice.
Joining as Senior Manager you will have the expected responsibilities of managing a client portfolio, covering a wide range of business sectors, across wide ranging SMEs, OMBs of wide ranging industry sector and size, delivering accounting and taxation services and providing business advice, delivering wide ranging planning projects across accounting and tax related projects, working closely with the wider team on delivery. You will play a lead role managing staff, workload and budgets and overseeing the development of this department. Alongside this, a key part of your role will involve actively becoming a part of the local business community, networking, developing relationships and looking to further the growth and development of the firms client base and you will play a lead role in the future growth of the client base and direction of this office. The opportunity therefore provides a genuine chance to develop towards director/partner level, with the associated skills required and you will be expected to demonstrate the ability to step up into this level of role, in a relatively short time scale.
You will be ACA, ACCA qualified, with a strong background in accountancy practice at Managerial, or Senior Manager / Partner Designate levels. You will have skills managing a portfolio of mixed clients of sole traders, partnerships and growing, profitable limited companies SMEs, and OMBs up to the audit threshold in turnover, with an emphasis on accounts, tax and advisory work. You will be looking to step up into a salaried director/partner level of role and be able to demonstrate the skills required with business development and relationship building skills.
You may be from a South West accountancy firm of small, medium/large size or looking to relocate to the South West in a long term lifestyle and career move seeking a challenging opportunity in the profession where you can develop towards partnership in a leading firm of accountants.
£40,000 - circa £60,000 dependent on the experience and background of the right individual with the role somewhat mould-able to fit a strong, managerial level of professional, through to more experienced senior managers/associate directors/partner designates etc.
