Job Description

This fast growing law firm have been involved in some of the most high-profile cases in family law of the past decade, making global headlines with their success representing ultra high net worth clients. Their meritocratic culture is committed to a positive working environment and a good work-life balance. As the Valuations expert in this client facing role, you will be joining the in-house financial and forensic accountancy team, focusing on the valuation of corporate interests in matrimonial proceedings

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct valuations of corporate interests using a variety of techniques for internal purposes;
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the value in other financial assets such as pensions, trusts, and various banking facilities;
  • Question reports prepared by third parties using your fundamental knowledge of valuation methodology and the underpinning tenants of best practice;
  • Understand how financial disclosure could impact the progression of a case through a developing understanding of family law;
  • Sculpt formal documents explaining your findings on a case, or your thoughts on a report or information received in a way that is accessible for an intelligent, but untrained audience;
  • Have the ability to write persuasively and advocatorially;
  • Attend meetings directly with clients and be able to articulate clearly the actions you are taking and the impact you expect it to have on the case;
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders about your work and how it impacts them and their clients, contributing towards strategic discussions for a case;
  • Be involved with the training of more junior staff.

Requirements:

  • c.5-10 years of working in valuations, preferably matrimonial, but any contentious valuations practice would be suitable;
  • There will be a preference towards having worked for and with large, blue-chip organisations;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Emotional intelligence
