A pivotal role reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller with extensive exposure to the Board and Exec teams. This role is responsible for managing and developing two qualified accountants is a key role managing and preparing the accounting and reporting activities of the Group, with particular emphasis on quarter end reporting to the Board and Executive Management. Detail below;
*managing the month and quarter end accounting close and review of the Group's consolidated monthly and quarterly management accounts;
*review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and journals, and liaison with other members of the finance team to ensure deadlines are achieved;
*reviewing customer contracts to ensure compliance with the Group's revenue recognition accounting policies;
*take the lead on technical accounting matters that might impact the Group such as leases, acquisitions and share based payment charges;
*assistance with the preparation of the Annual Report and a key contact during the annual external audit;
*working with our internal systems team, including the systems accountant, to ensure that the reporting system provides accurate and reliable outputs, while continually looking for system improvements and process efficiencies;
*producing all internal financial reports for the senior management team, dealing with variance analysis queries and other ad-hoc requirements as part of our regular reporting cycle;
*working with teams outside of the finance function to understand the impact of commercial and system enhancements on the finance team and provide key input into those decision making processes;
*managing the training and development of two team members;
*liaising closely with the financial planning and analysis team in areas such as expenditure control and budget reporting;
*ad hoc tasks and projects, which typically have a commercial focus and exposure to Senior Management.
*ACA qualified accountant, ideally with some experience in commerce but exceptional candidates looking for their first move out of practice will be considered;
*Energetic, assertive, confident and robust with the ability to influence at all levels coupled with the tenacity and drive to deliver accurate results in a timely manner;
*Sound technical experience of IFRS, in either a commercial environment or from an audit perspective;
