Rural accounts specialist manager or senior manager established accountancy practice in Salisbury
An opportunity has arisen in this fast growing and dynamic Rural Team in Salisbury at Manager/Senior Manager level. The team provides accounting and tax compliance services, along with tax planning advice covering both income tax and capital taxes, to a variety of forward thinking farming, rural and agri-businesses.
You will be involved predominantly in the provision of accounting and tax compliance services and there will be opportunities to progress within the department, and to be involved in advisory work, commensurate with knowledge and experience, and to build client relationships.
On a day to day basis you will be managing compliance work for a portfolio of clients (mainly partnerships and companies, but no audits) along with the daily management of the Rural Team, overseeing work flow and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget and identifying financial, commercial and tax planning opportunities for clients. You will also be working with Partners on new client work
It is likely that you will be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or qualified by experience, with significant relevant experience in a similar role, specialising in rural accounts work. You will need to have good technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance and be committed, logical and accurate, with a methodical approach to work and strong attention to detail. You will have experience in servicing different types of business entity, experience in using accounts and tax return software and be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in delivering an excellent service to clients
Ideally you will have a genuine interest in farming and/or rural matters and have some experience in accounting and taxation for property and agricultural businesses. A knowledge of capital taxes and familiarity with IHT and CGT issues would also be an advantage.
