Job Description

Identifying and interpreting insolvency procedures to proactively mange a portfolio of case work, while taking responsibility for compliance, budgets and billing. Will also be responsible for a portfolio of clients, providing a timely and profitable service in accordance with the highest professional standards and contributing to the continued growth and development of the department. You will also have a team whom you will manage and develop.

Job Description:

• proactively contributes to the department's marketing efforts including attending events, preparing presentations and marketing collateral, suggesting new initiatives, organising events, following up targets and contacts
• has good understanding of the market and current developments (both work providers and competitors)
• has a developing network of contacts and maintains these contacts
• prepares draft proposals for new work, with guidance where appropriate
• understands other functions and is able to utilise and promote them when appropriate
• can present at internal and external events, on development, marketing and assignment related subjects

• able to apply technical knowledge appropriately in the context of individual clients and can display both skill and speed in resolving client problems
• able to define "win-win" situations for client and firm
• with partner's agreement, handle negotiating processes/parts thereof
• understands potential trade-offs between fee/profit maximisation and long term business with client
• makes quick, clear and unequivocal recommendations to partners about client issues and can generate a range of options and choices and narrow these down appropriately
• judges the balance between the need for information and data and the requirement, from a client's perspective, for quick decisions and recommendations

• manages those who are working on assignments, including coaching, identifying and dealing with performance issues in a timely manner, ensuring that regular feedback is given, ensuring as far as possible that team members receive appropriate training and development
• ensures own performance reviews take place and goals are achieved
• delegates effectively and appropriately
• carries out job and performance reviews for team members as required, and ensure paperwork is completed and filed in timely manner
• is familiar with Grant Thornton employee policies and ensures team compliance
• participates in recruitment as appropriate
• leads by example
• maintains technical aptitude to carry out role e.g. attend internal development events including workshops

Operations and results
• assignment management and compliance, reporting to partners on a regular basis to update them on assignment progression and any compliance issues encountered
• understands the impact of current and projected trading and cash flow on the position and security of key financial stakeholders
• coordinates the fieldwork and subsequent report writing on investigation assignments
• acts as an interface between the client and the company subject to review
• prepares reports and recommendations for Lenders and other financial stakeholders
• participates in presentations to Lenders and other financial stakeholders
• marketing and business development activities
• management of work in progress and credit control
• can rationalise any variances to budget in respect of work in progress

Minimum requirement:

  • Be qualified ACA/ACCA
  • Restructuring experience appropriate for the level of role applied for
