Your new company
A firm of Chartered Accountants based in Manchester city centre, with a strong national presence, are seeking a specialist in Research and Development (R&D) to join their team and help them expand their capability. This firm is a general practice that cover all aspects of accountancy including (but not limited to), audit, accounting, cloud accounting, corporate financial services, executive payroll, financial planning, expatriate services, personal insolvency, private client services, and an end-to-end multi-team tax capability (ie. personal and corporate compliance, and technical tax planning in VAT, R&D). Their experience is most specialised in the sectors of automotive, property, academy schools, recruitment and sports.
Your new role
Your new firm's R&D function works collaboratively with other areas of taxation (namely corporate) and this role has been created due to their current demand, coupled with future expansion plans. Your new role in this Research & Development (R&D) job for Manchester-based Top 20 practice will be highly clients focused. Your job will be to source and capitalise on new business within the marketplace, visiting them and building relationships, identify business opportunities with them and provide sound technical advice to clients where appropriate. You will assist on R&D focused projects, which may involve some management and delegation of work to juniors while working alongside the manager. This role may include the opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of this expanding department, and you will be required to add value and key insights of the wider market.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have notable experience within and accountancy practice and be ATT/CTA qualified, or qualified by experience, with prior experience working with a varied portfolio of clients. You will be confident building and maintaining client relationships have a broad and up to date knowledge of relevant tax legislation, with some advisory skills also being desirable. Ideally you will be a self-started, work well within a team and have a desire to progress through the ranks of this excellent firm.
