Property Accountant - Newly qualified / Part-Qualified - OUR CLIENT is the private Real Estate company of an UHNWI Family member based in Qatar. They are a £multi-million residential and commercial private property holding company and they operate on a global scale. On the back of a number of successful acquisitions our client is now seeking to hire for the newly created role of Accountant and relocate a professionally trained / qualified Accountant from the UK to Qatar for the business.

THE ROLE will be to account and report for a portfolio consisting of several entities and properties that are being held under the personal names of family members in different jurisdictions including: BVI, Guernsey, Panama, Jersey and one UK company. The main shareholders are family members that are UK non-residents.

The main areas of responsibility will be to prepare financial statements as and when required and provide the following accounting services:

ACCOUNTING - Writing up the accounting records of companies and entities including balance reconciliations and preparing monthly reports which should be documented and readily available;

keeping the records of receipts and payments and post and balance of corresponding ledgers.

INCOME TAX - Preparing the tax return accounts and supporting schedules [in duplicate] to be approved and signed.

Submitting the returns and schedules with the accounts and computations to the Inland Revenue and liaising with them.

Providing advice on the amounts of tax to be paid and the dates by which the company should make the payments. Where appropriate, initiating repayment claims when tax has been overpaid.

Preparing tax provisions and disclosures to be included in the company's statutory accounts.

Annual Tax and ATED Returns - Filing all required ATED returns for all companies and following through with HMRC and paying relevant ATED fees.

Advising clients, the directors and executives on tax rule changes and personal income tax and capital tax affairs.

VAT - Preparing and delivering VAT returns as required for all companies and undertaking the completion of VAT returns.

Other - To prepare, on a monthly basis, all expenditures made for and on behalf of the companies and to follow through demands by local councils and other suppliers to attain best results.

Managing the NRL IT return scheme as well as managing the HMRC statements.

LOCATION - The successful accountant will be based in Doha, Qatar and will be expected to travel and visit the UK as necessary, on a regular basis - our client will relocate the successful individual and accommodate them for the first month whilst they relocate and set themselves up.

PERSON - To apply you will hold degree in Accounting or Finance and ideally be studying or recently qualified as an accountant (ACA / ACCA) having been trained in the UK - You will have 2-3 years of experience, preferably in Real Estate or Third Party accountancy firm and be UK based with demonstrable UK tax experience; knowledge of VAT, ability to deal with filing with HMRC etc. You will be proficient in the use of Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat and ABOVE ALL possess excellent verbal and written English and communication skills. You will be well presented, ambitious and hard-working and must be able to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and a continually heavy work load. The ability to effectively communicate with high level executives is paramount as is the ability to be organised, detail oriented and able to prioritize many tasks.
