Description

This is an exciting, project-based opportunity which has been created as part of a new approach to the regulation of the audit profession.

This team monitors how well the major audit firms support and promote high quality audit. The team will seek evidence on the audit firms in the following areas:

  • leadership and governance;
  • values and behaviours;
  • business models and financial soundness;
  • risk management and control; and
  • evidence on audit quality.



The role involves:

  • assisting with the scoping, planning and execution of projects relating to the monitoring and supervision of the largest UK audit firms;
  • carrying out research and analysis relating to the structures, business models, conduct and risks associated with largest UK audit firms.

Profile

A professional qualification, combined with experience working in a professional services firm, an audit or risk management discipline or a regulatory supervisory role are required.

Knowledge and expertise in the following areas:

  • Discharging internal or external audit projects within a set scope and timeframes
  • Applying risk management methodology to a large corporate or professional services firm
  • Understanding how the largest accountancy firms are structured and how their business models operate
  • Awareness of LLP structures and how they differ operationally from corporate structures

Job Offer

  • Salary £60,600, plus 30 days annual leave and the ability to buy extra leave.
