Your new company
My client is a government department based in Central London. They are currently Programme Finance Leads on a permanent basis.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, Assurance and Resources, you will be responsible for developing medium-term budget profiles to successfully manage and deliver each programme, to secure the required funding and manage the spending of these. You will be responsible for working with other finance leads to identify and manage the operational financial risks at a portfolio level. You will be a first point of contact for all financial issues arising under your programme of expertise, escalating as necessary through programme or financial decision-making routes where appropriate. Moreover, you will monitor and report actual expenditure against budgets and prepare monthly and quarterly reports on the programme's overall financial and resourcing position. In addition, you will lead on the application of Grant Funding policies and procedures including the collation of evidence to support the authorisation of grant payments and ensuring the prompt payment of grant claims.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential to be a qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with excellent leadership and finance skills. This will include developing budget profiles and financial decision-making experience. It is essential to have experience where you have built effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a salary of £50,345 - £57,917 plus £4,000 accountancy allowance as well as some excellent benefits which include civil service pension scheme and flexible working.
