  • Be the expert on all metrics of our business, including financial and non-financial planning, reporting and analysis.
  • Work with the business to design and develop KPIs and PIs reporting, including actual against target reports.
  • Full life-cycle project involvement: working with a wide variety of stakeholders throughout the business to identify and propose new model builds; turning these plans into designs; building and supporting implementation of models.
  • Provide analytical support and insights to the business units on revenue and cost drivers (i.e., Student and Member metrics)
  • Modernising processes and developing automation and systems to achieve greater efficiency and transparency.
  • Continually develop the relationship between finance and the wider business providing stronger engagement and improved communication with non-finance teams
  • Ad hoc project delivery, process development and optimization as it relates to areas of driver-based models, pricing or operational efficiency.
  • Support review and streamlining of the Institute’s existing reporting suite.
  • Specific duties will vary from time to time in line with the business needs.


Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years’ experience of working within an analysis or accounting function pulling together financial and/or non-financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges of working within a multi-channel business – multiple currencies, products, business models.
  • Practical model builder with examples of successful model implementations and strong skills and experience in Excel. Experience with multi-dimensional data and reporting tools is a big advantage.
  • Understanding of data warehouses, SQL and cubes desirable
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, including the relationship between the three financial statements. Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable - Part Qualified Accountants welcome to apply
  • Analytical mindset - the ability to analyse data at a high level of detail but also to be able to step back and see the bigger picture. Ability to adapt to changing situations and requirements.

Our department: Financial Planning & Analysis Team

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team support ICAEW through the production of reporting and analysis on a regular basis. These are produced on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as well as an ad-hoc basis to service the needs of all areas of the ICAEW and its related group entities and other associated bodies.
