Your new company

Your new company is a leading name within the Building Services sector within the UK - working with many of the country's leading utilities suppliers to provide specialist products and services. The company is looking to ensure that there are strong governance principles in place and so the creation of this role on a Part-Time basis has come about to work with various leaders and departments within the business.

The company's Head Office is based in Ipswich, and parking is provided on site.

This role is going to be a Part-Time position, and the company would be looking for around 2.5 - 3 days per week working. This can be flexible to suit you (i.e. 5 mornings/afternoons, 3 whole days etc.). They also have a hybrid working model so you should only need to be in the office 1 day per week.

Your new role

Your new role as Part-Time Head of Compliance comprises of 2 key elements.

Firstly, you will act as the company's Head of Commercial Compliance - reviewing the various contracts that they have with clients to ensure that the SLA Frameworks are valid, as well as financially viable. This will likely lead to collaboration with the Sales teams, as well as Legal (who are based in the USA).

Secondly, you will become a Trustee for the company's Pension Scheme. They have a Final Salary Pension Scheme in place, and so you will work with the Trustees as well as legal advisors, and Tax teams etc. to ensure that this is well managed and funded properly. The position of Chair of the Trustees is also going to become vacant and the business would support a campaign for election to that position.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong knowledge of commercial compliance, reviewing legal documents and contracts to ensure legal validity and financial viability
  • Experience or Understanding of Pension Schemes would be a huge bonus, but this is secondary to the Compliance experience
  • Ability to work in the UK without restriction
  • Prior working experience or knowledge in a Financial leadership position, or CoSec type role would be an advantage
