This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced client manager. The role holder will assist in the client management of the private client and business tax teams. The departments assists with the taxation affairs of around 1,600 private clients and sole traders and 1,000 companies. Typical clients include HNWI’s, Non-resident/Non Domiciled Taxpayers, Trusts & Estates and business owners and their families.

The departments consists of experienced qualified personnel as well as trainees of various levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the TWP Tax partner, the candidate will review the work of junior members of staff,

  • Ensure that all work completed is in accordance with the firms quality control procedures

  • Assist in the management of a team including the coaching and development of junior staff both on the job and through monitoring exam and on the job performance

  • Provide overall support to Partners on client matters and special projects including exposure to a wide variety of tax issues

  • Assist the audit team by reviewing tax computations of audit companies and groups

  • Deal with client queries and manage client expectations

  • Assist with HMRC enquiries and investigations

    Business Impact:

  • Deliver a high value service to our clients and ensure that client expectations are exceeded

  • To ensure the work is delivered within deadlines and meets targeted recovery

  • Identify system weaknesses and seek to improve processes to increase departmental efficiency

  • Assist with advising clients on non-compliance matters

    Key Skills Required:

  • High level of organisation skills and experience of managing junior staff

  • High level of communication skills to enable them to form relationships with clients, staff and partners

  • Ability to build relationships with staff, partners and clients whilst challenging and bringing about positive change

  • Experience of managing and developing junior staff

    Authority/Decision Making:

  • Takes decisions and exercises own judgment well

  • Proven ability to handle multiple relationships and adapt to different individuals

  • Confidence in dealing with clients and staff on technical matters

  • Works with high level of authority on complex issues,



  • STEP qualification desirable



  • Proven track record in a similar sized firm

  • Experience of private client and business taxation

  • Extensive experience of reviewing work

  • Ability to coach, develop & motivate junior staff

  • Experience of dealing directly with clients, create and foster relationships

  • Demonstrate ability to consistently provide and achieve high standards of client service

  • Strong initiative and solid judgment and decision making skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure and deliver results

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Excel and Word

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented & ability to multi-task

  • Organised, self-motivator and ability to meet deadlines


  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:-

    • Taxation of non-domiciled/Non-resident taxpayers,

    • Trust and estate taxation,

    • Property taxation,

    • Inheritance Tax

    • Groups of Companies

    • Business sales and associated tax issues

    • Experience in using CCH taxation and practice management software.
