Management Accountant role within an exciting company based in Speke. This role would suit a newly qualified or 1/2 years PQE candidate looking for their first move into industry.

Client Details

This business is owned by one of the world's largest media conglomerates, and also active in the service sector and education. They are headquartered in Germany but have sites in both the UK and Germany.


  • Deliver and coordinating month end closing activities and analysis on time in full
  • Production and consolidation of monthly management accounts and maintenance of group reporting tools ensuring good data quality and adherence to reporting timelines
  • Create monthly management accounts pack for local Directors team
  • Responsible for short term monthly sales forecasts and explaining deviations
  • Work with local and group sales team to ensure that annual sales forecast is kept up to date and relevant for decision making
  • Maintain and explain movements UK full year sales forecasts
  • Review actual job profitability against estimates, investigate deviations together with sales and production as required
  • Direct involvement in annual Budget process including sales, indirect costs, Balance Sheet, cash flow, consolidation & analysis (June to October)
  • Investment and depreciation budget / reforecast
  • Supporting and reviewing investment requests to ensure investment criteria are met, investment budget is not exceeded and cash is allocated optimally
  • Prepare and run cost centre meetings with allocated departments (admin and production)
  • Coordinate and review customer paper reconciliation and settlements with Operations/ Commercial team
  • Development of processes and systems to improve efficiency and data quality
  • Various ad hoc / project work required by the business to identify profit opportunities
  • Supporting external and internal audit requests
  • This role is the deputy to the Finance Manager and as such is required to provide holiday / sickness cover and support as required


  • Highly motivated and driven to improve processes / compliance / reporting
  • Good communication skills
  • Good time management skills, effective at coping with peak workloads and working to tight deadlines
  • Good IT skills with demonstrated ability working effectively with integrated IT systems
  • Able to work accurately with good attention to details
  • Supportive and collaborative, valuing diversity
  • Member of a chartered accountancy body, preferably CIMA
  • Must have excellent Excel skills and good data analysis skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP and reporting tools
  • Proficient with standard office applications such as PowerPoint and Word

Job Offer

Salary: £40,000-£45,000
Benefits: 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays. 4% employer and employee pension contribution, free onsite parking, access to an on site physio and occupational health advisor. This role will be 100% office based during busy periods such as month end however will be flexible with likely 1 day a week at home during other periods.
