Hays are delighted to be Exclusively Partnered with a well-known Membership organisation for the appointment of a Management Accountant. This is a full time role reporting to the Head of Finance. Our client are a fantastic organisation with a proud Scottish heritage and enterprise across all service areas. This role will has become available through retirement of the previous incumbent an we are now looking for a Qualified Accountant that can add value in management reporting.

Your new role
This is a key role within the finance team which is currently a team of 4 where the Management Accountant will deputise for the head of finance. You will assist with the day to day running of the finance function to ensure a comprehensive finance service is delivered internally to other departments and externally to supplier, customers and other external parties. You will deliver across management accounting and budget setting with variance analysis and review and support at year end with technical accounting and VAT matters. You will Produce monthly performance reports for managers and review with managers answering any queries they may have in relation to budget and performance. Additionally you will have liaise with the transactions team across payroll, reconciliations and process.

This is a broad and varied role where you will be an important stakeholder in delivering efficiencies and process improvements along the way.


What you'll need to succeed
As a fully qualified Accountant you will have strong technical as well as analytical experience, interacting with senior stakeholders and influencing change across processes and adding value. This is a great role for an ambitious candidate either looking to make a more from the profession into a strategic role or an experienced Accountant looking for advancement in their career. You will be a trusted advisor across the business able to build relationships with ease across both financial and non financial stakeholders.
