Head of Finance & Procurement role - Reputable Charity - Chesterfield - £59,250 FTE pro rata - 6 month FTC
Your new company
This reputable and leading charity based in Chesterfield are seeking to appoint a Head of Finance & Procurement to join on an initial 6 month fixed term contract. There is potential for this role to go on longer than 6 months and potential for permanency in the role, however this cannot be confirmed at this stage.
Your new role
You will join the organisation on an interim 6 month fixed term contract basis, hitting the ground running as their Head of Finance & Procurement reporting to the Finance Director.
You will provide strong leadership and management of the finance function alongside the procurement team, working in partnership with stakeholders across the charity.
You will also lead on the rationalisation of finance and procurement processes and systems, optimising team outputs within constraints of current systems, whilst also planning for the implementation of new finance and procurement systems which will complement the interfacing systems of the charity.
You will work closely with the Finance Director in providing strategic financial advice and support to the team leading on the transformation alongside the wider leadership team, whilst proactively managing the financial position of the charity, leading the effective financial planning, forecasting and monitoring of financial performance against the purpose and strategic objectives of the charity.
What you'll need to succeed
- Fully qualified accountant
- Significant experience of financial management within a complex organisation
- Understanding of effective financial processes, controls and budgetary tools, including ability/experience of implementing systems effectively across an organisation
- Proven experience of supporting organisation strategy by implementing financial policies and processes
- Proven track record of leading and managing staff
- The ability to communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders
- Experience of working in a charitable/NFP organisation
- Advanced Excel skills
Additional benefiting skills include LEAN/Six Sigma experience, multiple project management experience and contract management experience including strong negotiation skills.
