An expanding and highly reputable Financial Services organisation is offering a brilliant opportunity for an individual to join their VAT technical team in Edinburgh City Centre. Your new role
Working in a friendly and established in-house VAT technical team, you will manage indirect tax compliance. This will involve accurately calculating the VAT liabilities, completing returns and ensuring the efficient payment to HMRC within statutory deadlines. Further to this, you will review VAT computations completed by more junior members of staff and answer queries from colleagues and third parties, with the view to mitigate risk and ensure tax efficiency. In order to full-fill these responsibilities, you will develop and maintain an up-to-date VAT technical knowledge and maintain client data. Finally, you will take a lead on managing the ongoing project of Making Tax Digital. This will involve regular liaison with software providers and the IT department.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have strong knowledge in indirect tax, whether that be in a compliance and/or advisory capacity. This may have been gained within Practice, Financial Services or another in-house capacity. Knowledge of SIPP and SSAS will be helpful, and good knowledge of accountancy software and/or Making Tax Digital will enhance your application. You will be articulate and organised with good people skills.
