Your new company
Hays is delighted to be partnered with a market leading international consultancy and digital business in order to recruit for a newly created Tax Manager position. This business has experienced significant and sustained growth, organically and via acquisition, resulting in the need for a tax specialist who will be responsible for compliance and planning. With an annual tax bill of over £4 million and a complex business structure made up of 16 international entities, this is an exciting and rare opportunity to make a real impact in a forward-thinking and forward-moving organisation, developing your technical and professional skills along the way. Indeed, given the direction of the organisation, progression is available, offering a clear route to Head of Tax. Standard hours are 8:30am to 5pm, however, flexible and agile working is available. Depending on your location, you may be able to heavily work remotely.

Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, as the International Tax Manager you will manage all aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance and planning. Over 50% of your time will be delivering advice to various areas of the business, for example in relation to international expansions, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and relevant tax incentives. You will also advise on other potential tax risks, changing legislation and cross-border tax matters such as transfer pricing requirements. You will have complete oversight of global tax compliance, with an emphasis on the UK and US, working closely with regional Finance Managers to ensure deadlines are met accurately and efficiently. You will manage the relationship with tax authorities and, when required, liaise with external providers on topics such as employment taxes.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will have a proven track record of corporate tax compliance and advisory delivery in a public practice or in-house capacity. Ideally, this will be supported by a relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, CA or CTA. Knowledge of indirect and/or employment taxes will enhance your application significantly. You will demonstrate the essential characteristics of a business partner - excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills with the ability to prioritise and comprehend business operations.
