Robertson Bell are pleased to be partnering with one of the UKs most known charities whilst they recruit for a permanent Head of Finance. This is an exciting time for the organisation and offers the successful candidate brilliant opportunities to lead on several key projects over the coming years. Reporting into one of the Directors you will oversee a large department of over 35 staff with six direct reports duties will include:

  • Work closely with Executives throughout the charity on financial strategies and key decisions which will impact the overall organisation.
  • Review current forecasting processes encouraging improvements as you see fit.
  • Oversee risk management ensuring financial risks are mitigated.
  • Lead on the development of strong financial controls to enable budget holders to have accountability.
  • Drive change through reviewing current systems and suggesting necessary improvements rolling these out across the department.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the wider organisation answering complex accounting queries.
  • Encourage a culture of constant development and drive a high performing team environment recognising opportunities for progression for staff.

This permanent Head of Finance vacancy is the perfect opportunity for someone experienced in implementing strong financial controls within a large and complicated organisation. Experience working with senior stakeholders and managing difficult challenges is essential alongside significant staff management experience.

This position will be based remotely initially.

  • Be a CCAB qualified Accountant.
  • Have experience working in a large and complex organisation.
  • Have driven change and process improvements.
  • Be an excellent communicator.
  • Have previously managed staff.
