Job Description

My client is a Bristol based charity who are now looking for a Head of Finance to join their vibrant team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the COO, this role is responsible for all things finance and holds a vital position on the Senior Management Team. Through the provision of financial support and advice, you will enable them to deliver financial targets and continue on their current growth trajectory.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Take the lead on the day-to-day management of the finance department, ensuring that all financial activities are being conducted accurately.
  • Manage a small team of finance professionals, providing any training as required and giving them opportunities to grow and develop.
  • Full responsibility for producing the monthly management accounts and the board packs for presentation to the rest of the Senior Management Team.
  • Business partner with all department heads, helping them to produce and manage their budgets.
  • Lead the preparation of the statutory accounts and be a key contact for the external auditors at year end.
  • Work closely with the COO, keep them updated with the financial position of the charity and provide sound financial advice to influence strategic decision making.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A full accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a role of a similar capacity.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • Strong knowledge of both management and financial accounting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
