Thorogood has multiple sites across the globe but this opportunity would be based in the UK head office in Ealing but working to a flexible hybrid model.

Your new role
As the Group Financial Controller you will work closely with the Head of Finance and be part of a friendly close knit and passionate team. Due to the global success of Thorogood you will have responsibility for the financial management for a number of global entities including the UK, US, Brazil, Singapore, India and Ireland.

Commercial finance duties will include the production of monthly management accounts, management reporting, sales analysis and strategic interpretation. You will have a flair for management and enjoy the prospect of leading and developing a small team. Thorogood is proud of its hands on and supportive culture.

Part of your role will be to manage the company operational and secretarial responsibilities for all of their international offices, outsourced support will be provided but duties will include banking, controls, regulatory filing and legal requirements.

You will be responsible for managing lending relationships and work to continually improve cashflow and related forecasting.
With a goal of developing the finance department into a 21st century centre of excellence you will help drive change and be able to operate at a level of sophistication that matches the complexity and technical demands of the group.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You will be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountant, with strong management and financial accounts experience.
  • You will have a strong academic track record.
  • Key attributes required include: flexibility, adaptability and independence. A willingness to be hands on at all times is necessary.
  • Strong leadership and team working ethic required.
  • You will be a critical thinker and have strong analytical skills, a questioning mind set and an eye for detail.
  • You will possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to C Suite level.
  • The ability to understand and respond to the challenge of a complex small business is imperative
  • A track record of professional and personal growth.
  • Advanced Excel.
