Job Description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


  • To support the Senior Manager FPA - Sales in the provision of key management information to adidas HQ and Market North senior management.


Key Responsibilities:



Forecast & Budget Process


  • Assist in the completion of the monthly IBP Process and annual Budget cycle
  • Work with sales business partners to provide accurate monthly sales forecasts across UK, Ireland & Benelux account base
  • Support the Sales Directors in challenging the bottom up forecasts and capturing key commentary, assumptions, risks and opportunities, resulting in an aligned Sales forecast
  • Drive the conversion of the order book by working cross-functionally and ensuring clear actions are defined and carried out.
  • Using information from all functions across the business, regularly review and report back on tracking versus forecast to ensure +/-2% forecasting accuracy target is achieved


Sales & Margin Forecasting & Reporting


  • Assist in the Margin forecast using Order Book from BI (MicroStrategy) on a weekly basis and report any deviations from previous forecast/budget
  • Provide enhanced and self-sufficient reporting to the Sales Force to support with Business On Hand (Invoiced + Orderbook) and forecast tracking



Performance and assistance with key activities in the month end cycle to ensure:


  • Month end reporting is delivered timely and accurately with Sales and Margin correctly recorded and fully reconciled
  • Work with sales business partners to ensure Rebates are paid out accurately and followed up with Financial Accounting and GBS to ensure the balance sheet is reconciled
  • Margin deviation to forecast is investigated and proactively reported
  • Key issues and changes are documented and communicated to management both locally and internationally



Trade Investment & Customer Profitability


  • Customer Profitability analysis undertaken to facilitate decision making and drive actions to maximise profitability
  • Manage annual trade investment review by account ensuring analysis supports decision making, improved profitability and strong internal controls over discounts
  • Work closely with Commercial Team to evaluate trade terms. Key focus on Gross to Net Sales and tracking of discounts for both Internal & Global reporting purposes.
  • Work with sales business partners to get the best value for business on any margin enhanced/exceptional discount deals
  • Regular reporting & tracking of exceptional discounts by account for all brands.
  • Financial modelling and tracking of commercial assets such as football and rugby clubs.
  • Business partnering including P&L modelling and financial evaluation and analysis



Cost Control


  • For assigned cost centres, ensure Operating Expense costs are managed effectively
  • Ensure cost centre managers take ‘ownership’ of their budgets and that accurate reports are issued on a timely basis
  • Ensure all expected deviations from budget are approved and reflected in the monthly rolling forecast
  • Co-ordinate meetings with cost centre managers and report significant issues to Senior Manager - Sales



Systems/process development:


  • Continual update and review of reporting within SAP
  • Involvement in SAP development to satisfy changing business requirements
  • Develop reporting tools in MicroStrategy
  • Continual update and review to improve and simplify all non-IT business processes



Key Relationships:


  • All Managers throughout North especially Sales Force but also including Sales Coordination, Financial Accounting, GBS, EMEA FP&A and Demand Planning



Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • Graduate, preferably with a minimum 2:1 degree
  • Accounting Qualification (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)



IT skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, Powerpoint, Word
  • Knowledge of SAP and MicroStrategy/BI (preferable)
