Your new company
A Top 30 National Law & Forensic Firm are looking to appoint a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) to join the team in either their Manchester or Leeds office. This is a strategic decision for the firm to expand and strengthen their offering within the North West. The firm are seeking a practice trained accountant who has a genuine interest in specialising within the forensic sector. The firm will consider both full time or part time working hours (28+ hours per week).
Your new role
As a Forensic Accountant you will work on a variety of insurance and litigation instructions supporting the solicitors and other forensic accountants. In this role you will apply your accounting and tax knowledge to the technical issues arising on each case and to effectively analyse the financial data and as you develop your skills you will take a lead on assignments.
Day to day duties will include reviewing underlying documentation from claimants and defendants an identifying any further evidence required, critically appraise claims,analysis of accounts, earnings, tax records and bank statements and drafting reports and memos.
Once you have established yourself in the team you will take a lead on a range of assignments from business interruption losses and professional indemnity claims to bribery and corruption cases. There is also the opportunity to develop your business development skills and develop the Northern team. The firm will consider both full time or part time working hours (28+ hours per week).
What you'll need to succeed
This is a unique job opportunity for a practice trained qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) to convert and specialise in forensics within a leading firm. You must be able to demonstrate a breadth of experience, preparing statutory accounts and tax computations autonomously and be comfortable dealing with a range of technical issues. Working closely with both the instructed lawyer and the client you must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and also the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
Whilst exposure to forensic experience isn't needed for this role you must be able to effectively demonstrate why you are looking to specialise in this area.
