About the role:

This role is a 7-9 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.

Manage the company-wide budgeting and quarterly forecast process along with consolidated reporting and support delivery of financial targets through in-depth analysis.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Coordination of the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast cycles
  • Creation of high-quality reports, analysis and commentary on company performance to assist decision making
  • Own and manage the relationship with finance functions across the company to support the achievement of corporate targets
  • Significant interaction with the Executives and senior management across all divisions of the Company and substitutes for the Head of FP&A in their absence
  • Provide inputs into key finance initiatives
 Planning and forecasting:
  • Responsible for preparing the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting planning process
  • Provide independent analysis of companywide financial information and provide accurate and timely financial recommendations for decision-making purposes
  • Gain a clear understanding of individual business units’ finance proposals, including cost drivers, KPIs, and outcomes expected. Provide the right level of challenge, ensuring plan reflects adequate efficiency improvements
  • Production of a concise consolidated information pack for Board purposes
  • Establish a strong working relationship with business leads and meet regularly to ensure the smooth running of the process
  • Investigate and apply best practice in business planning and forecasting
 Performance reporting
  • Support delivery of financial plans through timely and accurate analysis and reports – ensure reports cover progress/status of key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variances
  • Gain a good understanding of performance through regular reviews with business units - challenge and instigate change where necessary to ensure operational and performance targets are achieved
  • Proactively highlight risks and opportunities identified through reviews to senior management
  • Support efficiency/transformation programmes across the company through financial analysis and inputs
  • Drive continuous improvement in the way performance is reported, and facilitate and respond to senior management feedback
  • Produce ad hoc financial analysis to support major business decisions
 Stakeholder management:
  • Regularly influencing and presenting to senior finance management, key findings from financial analysis
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with finance teams across the business units including Corporate Finance, Treasury and Accounts Payable to ensure strong engagement on planning, forecasting and performance issues
  • Work closely with the Integrated Business Planning team to ensure the development of long-term business plans
  • Continuously seek opportunities to add value to the business as a finance function
 Team management:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to team staff – develop staff and provide clear and direct performance management
  • Continuously seek opportunities to elevate team performance
  • Ensure finance policies and procedures are understood and are adhered to
 To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Qualified accountant
  • Numerous years’ post-qualification experience in FP&A function with a proven track record in 'adding value'
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail whilst being able to see a broader picture
  • Significant communications experience - presenting financial analysis to senior management, including Company Executive
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise own and team members work
  • Proactive and ability to offer business guidance and advice
  • Ambitious and sets high goals for self and team
  • HFM experience preferable
