Your new company

Your new company is an SME Tour Operator based in Central London. This company offers some incredible cultural tours, across the globe, to an exclusive clientele. The business has seen some good growth levels over the last few years and are now looking to hire for a Financial Controller job in their West London office, to join their team of 7 in finance.

They operate a fairly heads-down culture, with all members of the team being aware of their job roles, and working together to achieve the best outcome quickly and efficiently.

Your new role

In your new job as Financial Controller; you will take responsibility for the wider finance team, meaning you will directly manage 4, and have supervisory responsibility for 3 more. However, you will have the CFO to use as a sounding board for new ideas and will help to continue your development from a leadership perspective.

You will also be in charge of the preparation of the full monthly management accounts, and yearly accounts. You will also need to take the lead in the VAT and Tax calculations - which will include some TOMS VAT preparation, and you will likely need to liaise on ATOL and ABTA reporting, when appropriate; using the business' external consultant for assistance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Experience managing a team (3+ ideally)
  • Ability to prepare full monthly management accounts
  • Ideally you will have experience within the Travel sector
  • Experience preparing TOMS VAT will be a huge bonus
