Overseeing a high performing team, this position will work closely with the Director of Finance to facilitate decision making and allow the organisation to continue to grow. Key Responsibilities include:
*Overseeing the management and statutory accounting for the organisation
*Preparing timely management reports and presenting at a senior level
*Generating financial analysis to assist senior management decision making.
*Providing sound financial advice to budget holders across the organisation
*Supporting the programme team on technical financial matters
*Working with the Director of Finance to deliver system and process improvements
*Managing a team of four and supporting professional development
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced organisation that is commercial and flexible enough to adapt to a changing international environment and continually improve its systems and processes. Highly regarded in the sector, this charity has had continuous success securing high profile contracts with a number of institutional donors and is a key player in the International Development sector as a result.
We are looking for a fully qualified CCAB accountant preferably from a practice background. Experience working in a finance function is required, as is a desire to work in the international development sector. Some experience of international finance would be an advantage but not necessary, more important is the ability to balance a role that can be both hands on and strategic. Experience producing annual accounts would be an advantage, whether gained in practice or industry. Excellent verbal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage a team and deliver financial advice to non-finance staff.
