Salix was recently acquired by RSK Group making it an exciting time to join this business. We have a need for a full time Financial Controller to join our team.

 

The successful candidate will have commercial experience and a track record of providing concise, accurate and timely information. This role will include, but not be limited to, delivering accurate management accounts on a monthly basis and liaising with auditors to provide appropriate and timely information to support the completion of the Group audit.

 

You will be a quick learner, able to gain an in-depth understanding of the current systems and processes at Salix and determine where they can be improved or better utilised.  You'll have regular contact with the Managing Director, the group accounts function and the Finance Partner at RSK and work with our Senior Leadership Team and Directors to develop their understanding of the financial performance of the business and to provide insight.  You will hold responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts, including prepayments, cost accruals and calculating work in progress, as well as presenting year end accounts, reconciling balance sheets, and preparing commentaries and reports for the Divisional Director and Finance Partner, including KPI analysis.  You will also assist with the preparation of the annual budget and capex requirements for the business in conjunction with the management team.

 

You'll be a competent communicator, leading your team by example, to ensure the finance function is working effectively and delivering the day to day financial operations of the business, including monitoring and ensuring timely billing, accounting for expenses, CIS & VAT and preparing monthly rolling forecasts.

 

This is a dynamic full-time position which mixes flexible working with attending the Company offices in Burton-on-Trent.

 

Essential criteria:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)

  • Experience of successfully running a successful finance function

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Be able to critically analyse and develop business processes

  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to be able to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial stakeholders alike

  • Be self motivated

  • Be comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
