Job Description

A great opportunity to lead a progressive finance team, drive really change and immerse yourself within UK based manufacturer. The Financial Controller will form a key part in the organisations future.

Client Details

A Manufacture based in Manchester servicing a global market. They are well established and have been a high performing organisation for many years.


The Financial Controller purpose will be:

  • To ensure that the organisation's financial activities are planned, communicated, monitored and controlled in order to make effective use of financial resources, meet the organisation's aims and goals and fulfil statutory obligations
  • To build a strong Financial Control Team with the necessary skills, competencies, attitudes and working practices to deliver sustained high levels of service to customers, suppliers and to other internal departments
  • To ensure that management throughout the business is provided with timely financial statements and analysis that enables them to monitor and control expenditure in their department or area of responsibility

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and development of the finance team - including Financial Accounts, AP and AR
  • Ensure a strong controls environment in maintain thought processes and procedures
  • Produce and submit accurate and timely company accounts to meet corporate and statutory requirements
  • Forecast, monitor and manage the Company's cash flow and working capital, particularly debtors, creditors and inventory
  • Ensure the accurate and on time completion of the month end close, producing the timetable, the balance sheet pack and ensuring the month end deadlines are met
  • Provide data and analysis to guide business improvement projects
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of all tax and insurances including VAT and Corporation Tax

  • Forecast and advise on cash flow and currency requirements to minimise charges and risk


A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with the a passion to drive a strong financial controls environment throughout the business. The successful candidate will also have a passion for people management and a strong track record coaching a finance team. They will also need a strong business partnering approach with the wider business to ensure a better working relationship between functions. Most of all will be enthusiasm to drive positive change.
