ACA/ACCA/CIMA UK Financial Controller required

FTSE 100 engineering business

Client Details

UK based subsidiary employing 34 people, delivering sales of £12million. Seeking a UK Financial Controller to join its growing team.


Accounting operations, Credit Control and Accounts Payable - leadership and motivation of a small team of staff leading these processes for the UK organisations. Ensuring clear goals, metrics and management processes in line with scope of duties.

Uphold the professional integrity of finance and ensuring strong internal control environment - challenging changes, seeking improvements and ensuring compliance to requirements of all external (VAT, Corporation tax, income tax, pension regulation, etc.) and internal bodies. Custodian of authorities and amendments accounting and associated systems.

Reporting to Internal and External bodies on time and in line with requirements - through ensuring robust and reliable accounting systems, calendars and processes that are efficient and effective

Driving programme of improvement actions across Finance - undertaking review of our Financial practices and services in scope to seek better performance and savings to our business. Work with the US and EMEAI sister Finance and IT functions to develop smoother operation of processes in the UK.

Financial Planning and Performance Analysis - support the GM UK and President EMEAI to explain performance and help them plan financially


Graduate Education: Yes (or clear evidence of intellect and clarity of thinking)

Professional Qualifications: CIMA, ACCA or ACA

Training: Leadership, People management, Communication, Project management

Experience: Must have very strong previous experience of Financial Control

Experience of managing people

International experience: Multinational experience of reporting and processes

Technical excellence: Robust and in depth understanding of UK & International financial accounting and the requirements of the UK accounting bodies
