Hays Senior Finance is proud to be working in partnership with Cherry Valley Farms Ltd, who are located between Humberside Airport and Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. They are looking to appoint a Financial Controller to join their team which is a pivotal role to the organisation.
Founded in 1959 by the late Sir Joseph Nickerson, the early vision and innovation of the company pioneers drove the development of what is now the world’s foremost duck breeding company. Now owned by a Chinese operation they export breeding stock around the world from their primary breeding operation in Lincolnshire and have a second primary breeding operation in Germany, two subsidiaries in China and several Chinese joint ventures.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will have a small finance team but also play a supportive role to other staff within the organisation. This is a pivotal but ‘hands-on’ role in ensuring resources are in place for the effective operation of the running of the business both financially and administratively.
Responsibilities include; the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual statutory and consolidated accounts, company secretarial duties, monthly VAT returns, oversee payroll, manage banking, insurances, utility contracts, asset management, capex projects and taking on other office management or adhoc duties as required.
The successful candidate will be a finance professional and be a qualified Accountant ideally ACA, ICAS or ACCA with at least 3 years’ experience. You will be highly commercial, a strong team manager and be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, both at local and Group level. Excellent IT skills and proficient in using Microsoft Excel is essential.
