Robertson Bell are once again proud to be partnering with this fantastic international development charity whilst they recruit for a permanent Financial Accountant. Supporting overseas representatives and partnering with various regions this position will work closely with the Head of Financial Accounts. Duties will include:

  • Provide expert technical advice related to financial accounting matters to various Heads of Finance.
  • Ensure the maintenance and development of strong financial controls.
  • Oversee financial processes for a broad portfolio of worldwide programmes.
  • Act as the lead contact for any financial accounting queries or issues.
  • Analyse historic data and highlight any high-risk trends.
  • Direct involvement with both the external and internal audit and support overseas teams with the delivery of the annual audit.
  • Create financial training documents to enable staff to develop their financial accounting knowledge.
  • Review of cash transfer submissions on a monthly basis and ensure funds for overseas programmes are transferred on time.
  • Act as a vital part of the global financial leadership team.

With an official base of the charities headquarters in London this role will offer flexible working arrangements including remote based options. There is potential in the future that this role would involve international travel, but this is expected be infrequent. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who either already has international development experience or is keen to make the move into the sector.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant.
  • Have first class communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Have strong reconciliation and financial accounting experience.
  • Have an interest in the international development sector.
  • Have strong Excel skills.
