Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to join the management accounts and financial reporting team in Leeds. The Financial Accountant will be primarily responsible for the preparation of the Mazars financial statements and leading the year end process.

The Mazars financial function work collaboratively, supporting each other, and challenging the norm to drive efficiencies and innovation in everything we do.

Role and Responsibilities

Monthly & Ongoing

  • The preparation of the Financial Statements across all Mazars LLP group entities
  • Managing the year end process including reporting UK performance to group for firm consolidation.
  • Dealing and managing technical financial reporting issues including adjustments to reporting standards
  • Ensuring controls are adhered to regarding year end processes, and improvements made where identified
  • Leading the year-end audit and being the key contact with our auditors
  • External reporting including to group and various surveys
  • Preparation of the firms' tax returns including VAT and PSA

Other Ad hoc work as directed by the Financial Controller. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the Senior Management Accountant to improve reporting and contribute to various accounting controls. There are opportunities to manage various projects as the team drives the implementation of digital technologies.

Skills Knowledge and Experience

  • Post 2-3 years qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ICAEW)
  • Strong experience of preparing and / or auditing consolidated statutory accounts under IFRS
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS financial reporting standards
  • Good excel skills
  • Able to manage your time effectively and work well with others in a team
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Good communication and numerical skills, with an attention to detail
  • A positive “can-do” attitude
