Job Description

Finance Systems Accountant required for a leading Surrey based Charity

Qualified or QBE Accountant with a good understanding of Financial systems

Client Details

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the main purpose of the role is to provide functional assistance to all of the Group's finance users ensuring that the finance systems continue to meet management and statutory compliance requirements whilst offering advice, support and solutions to queries. To implement a new integrated finance system. To be responsible for supporting all of the Group's finance systems including the finance system (Sage), the Purchase to Pay system (Compleat), the budgeting and forecasting software (Adaptive) and other finance systems.


Ensure all systems-based processes are up-to-date and that adequate process documentation is in place.

Maintain records of system change requests including chart of accounts and underlying structure

Responsible for ensuring that there are clear guidelines for the use/control of the systems and that authorisation and access rights are in line with individual's responsibilities

Deliver training requirements for the finance team and other users, ensure these are documented and a training programme arranged and carried out.

Work with the users of finance systems to understand current and future business and technical requirements to support delivery of the finance operating plans.

Respond to enquiries from system users, resolving any issues in accordance with agreed timescales.

Responsible for ensuring all administrative tasks relating to the use of Sage, Adaptive, Compleat (P2P) and other finance systems are performed satisfactorily.

Lead on the design and maintenance of report creation, including SQL and other reporting tools

Provide project management, input and guidance to finance improvement projects to ensure the best solution is implemented.

Support system upgrade processes ensuring that the organisation realises benefits from changes in technology.

Providing information for the regulator, such as the Statistical Data Return (SDR)

Providing information for other statutory bodies

Providing information for Housemark benchmarking.


Qualified or QBE Accountant

Minimum 2 years strong finance management experience

Knowledge of market leading finance systems

Experience of using complex finance and finance related systems

Experience of developing and improving financial reporting and financial procedures

Excellent IT skills -Advanced Excel, Access, SQL and MS reporting tools
