Job Description

The Finance Team are committed to delivering a high quality service to the global business in a timely, effective and accurate manner. This is an excellent opportunity to be a hands on business partner, involved in monthly finance tasks, but also being the finance contact for any projects within the business and helping to drive our ambitious growth plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Business partner with key budget holders in the business to ensure all costs are reported correctly in the management accounts, covering specifically marketing, IT, logistics, and overheads, and the business understands performance and actions required.

  • Own the budget process with business partners annually and also in quarterly reforecasts.

  • Support the Financial Controller in the month end close and production of monthly management accounts for the online retail business and consolidation of Group results.

  • Assist the Paris team with preparation of the French month end pack, including reviewing the results, and understanding variances to budget and prior year, and ensuring that the team understand their performance and actions required.

  • Ensure all key month end postings are carried out on an accurate and timely basis.

  • Ensure that certain key Balance Sheet accounts are understood by Finance and stakeholders and properly reflect the business operations – such as voucher provisions, revenue recognition.

  • Carry out ad hoc analysis of financial performance as needed.

  • Manage the accounts payable team of three ensuring their performance and development is optimized and exceptional service is delivered to the business.

  • Own the finance requirements for all projects within the business, including finance continuous improvement projects, from inception to business as usual, including testing any development, working as an analyst with IT and program management.

  • Support the Director of Business Planning & Analysis with Budgets and Forecasts as needed.

  • Support the Director of Finance and Operations with the financial management of the Group as needed.

Skills / Qualifications: 

  • ACCA/ACA qualified.

  • Strong time management skills essential, with the ability to have several projects moving along at one time.

  • Strong all round computer skills with intermediate or advanced excel skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage workload independently.

  • Naturally inquisitive and questioning.
