This position is a key appointment, working closely with the Financial Controller, to develop and maintain frameworks across the group with core responsibility for financial accounting & reporting whilst ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the reports.

Although working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll have a strong degree of autonomy within the role, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and being the main contact for external auditors. Alongside this,you will review monthly financial results, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts, with additional focus on process improvement and the improvement in functionality of monthly tasks

You will work closely with the management accounts team, whilst creating and standardising monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and liaising with wider specialist finance teams in the business.

You will also have ultimate responsibility for the completion of statutory reporting requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
Due to the statutory requirements of the role, competency with IFRS is essential to this role. You will be a CCAB Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) and be competent with specialist finance systems and Office suite.

In some respects, many personality traits are more important to this role than industry specific background. A strong technical grounding is key, however communication skills and adaptability are even more essential. As a key member of the team, the ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales are essential, and therefore organisation skills are a key trait for this position.

You will be highly analytical and be competent in all aspects of process improvement, whilst being comfortable working in a fast paced organisation with a varied and complex structure. An interest in M&A would also be advantageous as the business continues its' growth.

Salary: c.£65,000 p/a
