Are you a Finance Manager or Financial Controller from a retail or distribution background (or an industry with a high volume of transactions), looking for your next long term challenge in a growing and entrepreneurial retail and distribution business? Are you looking to work for a financially very stable group company with a turnover in excess of £80m which is growing at a very fast rate? Are you looking for a role with an early 2021 start date (the exact start date is very flexible)? Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, your role will include the preparation of group management accounts, performance analysis, statutory accounts, simple tax returns, liaising with auditors, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations and ad hoc assignments as they arise. You will carry out these duties for a number of companies within the group. You will be based in a medium sized and growing finance team and be able to make this role your own as they are expecting the role to evolve and develop over time. They use a bespoke software package and training will be provided. The company want someone with a stable CV, who is looking to join a growing and profitable medium sized company for the long term and who can grow and develop with the business. There will be opportunities for future growth and promotion within the business as the company and role evolves.
To be considered for this newly created role due to growth, you will likely be a qualified ACA Finance Manager / Financial Controller, with post qualification experience (although qualified by experience candidates will still be considered). You must have experience working in the retail and / or distribution sectors and be used to working in a high volume business. This company would also consider very strong candidates from a practice background looking to make their first move into industry. You must be looking to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial and stable group company that is experiencing high growth. You must have experience of preparing both management accounts and statutory accounts from start to finish, and simple tax returns would be an advantage although not essential. An understanding of areas such as reconciliations, sales ledger and purchase ledger is also required, as is staff management and reviewing work. You must also be able to carry out ad hoc, project based work as and when required. You must be a team player, be commercial, have an entrepreneurial approach to work and be able to work to tight deadlines and use your initiative. You must also be a car driver and live within commutable distance to Henley Upon Thames. Training will be provided in North London and so you may need to travel to North London for the first few months of employment.
