Job Description

Our client, a well established and highly regarded blue chip business, is looking to source a confident and credible Finance Manager to join its talented team. The role will have 2 direct reports and be predominantly responsible for the correct accounting of the cost base of the Group, which includes costs of sale, stock, maintenance, overheads and depreciation.

The successful candidate will be an inquisitive individual, with a strong mix of management accounting and business partnering, focusing on costs and capex. You will have ideally worked in an environment such as engineering, travel, manufacturing etc. and understand some of the more complex costs associated with these types of industries.

Main duties:
* Developing a deep knowledge of cost base driven by things such as contractual arrangements, operational maintenance and stock areas, impact of accounting standards etc.
* Leading relations with the business from an actual accounting perspective, encouraging your team to go out and similarly engage with stakeholders to build relationships
* Working with business partners to understand numbers, forecast accurately and ensuring budgets are kept at the forefront
* Working actively with the business to ensure PO and receipting are progressively improved
* Leading the finalisation of cost for the month and year to date with supporting analysis of the results versus budget and last year
* Leading and developing direct reports

Key skills and experience required:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
* Demonstrates ability to prioritise and multi-task effectively in order to meet deadlines;
* Produces workable solutions to a range of problems
* Experience of organising and managing large data sources to create useable information whilst maintaining data integrity
* Breaks information into component parts, patterns and relationships, probes for further information or greater understanding of a problem
* Demonstrates gravitas, capable of building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and levels
* Provides others with clear direction and delegates effectively
