Job Description

To Manage Centre of Excellence service and support and deliver the accounting services to the other offices the Manager ensure the smooth running of the Real Estate property accounts and tax department team. The role will oversee all aspect of delivery of professional services within client services to a mix of clients, the no of which will be governed by a matrix of structural / technical complexity, relationship complexity and revenue generation.

Accounting Administration

  • Accounts preparation
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns and related computations
  • Complete the monthly management accounts
  • Communicating to directors regarding work and situations involving the property accounts department and clients
  • Providing accounting support to clients
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns
  • Analysis of clients key performance indicators for submission with the management accounts

People Management

  • Review work in progress for team members and monitor the progress of jobs
  • Quality control and training of team members
  • Planning and organising own client portfolio and team time planning
  • Review current workload and resources
  • Training junior members of the team


  • Budgets for specific assignments
  • Preparing the terms of engagement for agreement with the client
  • Examining the explanations of variance from budget
  • Monitoring all jobs of the client to ensure timely and efficient completion
  • Ensuring accounting systems are maintained and in accordance with current standards
  • Keeping knowledge up to date including attending CPD courses
  • Managing director expectations



* Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA or ACA)


* A minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience in a financial services environment, ideally in a private equity or real estate accounting role

* At least 3 years' experience in a management or supervisory role

* Experience on Investran and /or Yardi

* Experience on Real Estate and Private equity.

* Experience of developing and coaching others


* Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of current industry and accounting legislation, regulation and working practices

* Detailed knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP and a basic understanding of other appropriate accounting standards

* Ability to deal with complex accounting matters

* People management theory and practical application

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel

* Good knowledge of UK VAT

* Working knowledge of real estate fund accounting including analysis of KPIs
