A key Finance Manager role for leading Retail business in Manchester. Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.

Your new role
You will be part of the Record to Report team, within the Shared Service function and report to the Head of R2R. You will be managing a team of 3 Finance Analysts with varying roles across the business . The role requires the individual to exhibit commercial awareness, an understanding of the underlying risks and opportunities within these processes, a control mindset and a drive to improve process efficiency and effectiveness, this person will also be a trusted business partner to the Divisional Finance Teams. Other core operational responsibilities of this role include; accountability for operating agreed controls across the Divisional balance sheet accounts, reconciliation of key control accounts across responsible areas, delivery of monthly P&L reports and commercial management reports, and working closely with the Divisional finance team to continually improve processes in these areas. The operational requirements of the team will also need to be managed and a strong contribution to the strategic direction of the Service Centre is important. The individual will take responsibility to drive their own and their team's performance and standards, monitoring and working to defined SLA and KPI targets.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant or finalist with strong technical skills. You will be able to demonstrate a strong control ethic alongside an excellent technical accounting skill set and good business acumen. Excellent stakeholder management will be imperative within this role; being confident and able to review high volumes of data, identify anomalies and work collaboratively with our stakeholders across both finance and commercial teams to remediate issues will be crucial success indicators. As the business continues to improve its ways of working it will be essential that you can adapt to change across both the team and company wide, ensuring that a strong control environment is maintained at all times while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes is a must. Previous experience of an R2R role would be an advantage, as would exposure to ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
