Finance Manager, SME organisation, QBE considered, SAGE 50, Accrington, East Lancashire

Your new company
This organisation has been operating for a number of generations, and still very much owner managed. They have a long serving office team, and this role has come available due to the current Finance Manager retiring.

Your new role
This finance manager job will have full responsibility for all things finance working on SAGE 50. You will be number 1 on site, with an accounts assistant assisting you with a wide variety of duties. You will be responsible for the profit and loss & balance sheet, along with detailed sales figures and analysis, accruals and prepayments, bank reconciliations, VAT, payroll, pensions, control of the ledgers including making monthly payments and chasing debt, cash flow management, intercompany balances and transactions and much more.

What you'll need to succeed
This job is busy, and demanding in terms of the variety of the role, so you must have all round experience as a finance manager or controller. You must be confident in your ability as you'll be expected to maintain all finance relationships including with the banks, auditors, customers, suppliers, and senior internal stake holders. Ideally you'll be qualified CIMA or ACCA but qualified by experience candidates are welcomed. This is still a very much family run business, so having a friendly can do attitude, with the ability to get on with all people is an absolute must. The organisation is looking for a candidate who is looking to stay in this post for a number of years, so soeone who will be looking for progression after this role will not be suited.

What you'll get in return
A family run business that will welcome you to their family. The current post holder will be retiring at the end of 2020 and therefore a good handover will be given to ensure you fully understand the position. Holidays include 22 days + bank, with an auto enrolment pension. The core office hours are Monday - Friday 9-5 and due to the nature and level of the role in finance, these hours must be worked in the office.
