The business owners have plenty of ambition and have further acquisitions planned in the future. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, forward thinking business with big plans.
Your new role
Your new role is a newly created position for the business, reporting to the head of finance with a dotted line into the owners. As the business continues to grow they have decided they now need an experienced finance manager to take on the daily running of finance operations.
The role would take ownership of the month end process and financial reporting. A significant aspect of this role is bringing the numbers to life with insightful and accurate reporting / management information to the management team.
Duties to include ;-
- Managing the AP / AR team on site in Cardiff (also some part time book keepers at other marinas)
- Prepare monthly MI to gross profit level
- Forecast and monitor income vs expenditure against plan
- Prepare insightful reports, budgets and commentaries
- Ad hoc finance support to assist business managers
- Bank reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, petty cash control
You will be working very closely with the business so it is essential you are comfortable dealing with non-finance stakeholders and getting to know the business.
This is a rare opportunity and for the right candidate the role has very strong progression prospects, which can be explained in full upon application.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 1 year PQE. Team management experience would be preferred (fine if gained in audit capacity). Above all you`ll need to be someone eager to learn and develop with the role and have a commercial outlook to finance and business.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 with benefits. You will enjoy a great working location in Cardiff Bay which is easily accessible from the M4, with free on site parking.
