Finance Manager Role - Leading SME - Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire - £40,000 per annum - Hays Accountancy

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and well-established family-owned business based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire to recruit for a hands-on and experienced Finance Manager. A varied accounting position reporting directly into the Managing Director and overseeing/supporting a small finance team. The company are a market leader in the manufacturing and design industry supplying products around the UK and Europe. A great opportunity to really add value and influence a growing SME supporting the finance team, senior management and wider business.

Your new role

Your key duties will include monitoring the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, VAT, EC Sales and other transactions. You will oversee and support a small accounts department, remaining hands-on where needed in all transactional duties. You will prepare management accounts, accruals prepayments, fixed assets and journals along with setting credit limits, reviewing stock reports and adjusting stock provisions. You will revaluate the foreign currency bank accounts, be involved in system implementation and internal controls for the finance department along with reviewing financial data and analysing for Senior Management. You prepare financials for year-end and tax preparation along with seeking and identifying performance areas to improve for the business.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on and varied Finance Manager role you will need experience within a similar position within an SME, with key supervisory skills and the ability to communicate with internal teams, the wider business and external parties. You will ideally have experience with Sage 200 and have an understanding of stock accounting processes. You will be self-motivated and have experience of improving systems and processes along with being able to manage work-loads and meet deadlines. Experience within the Manufacturing industry and foreign currency processes would be advantageous but not essential.
