Job Description

Our client, a highly regarded not for profit, with a stellar reputation for providing unrivalled care and services for those in need, is looking to source a top calibre Director of Finance. Reporting to the CEO, you will actively contribute to strategic planning, forecasting and compliance.

Aside from financial management, you'll partner closely with the Board of Trustees, the Senior Management Team and have 2 direct reports, the Financial Controller and the Head of Facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented organisation, in a role that will provide a huge amount of challenge and reward.

Main duties include:
* Financial Accounting, investment and reporting:
- Responsibility for all aspects of financial management
- Prepare and monitor the annual budget
- Maintaining controls
- Preparing audit information
- Preparing the annual report and financial statements in accordance with the SORP
- Coordinate investments held and report on the performance of investments
* Strategy and planning:
- Working with the Chief Exec and Senior Team to implement strategy
- Responsibility for business planning and forecasting
- Developing and implementing strategic delivery plans for finance, facilities and
* Governance and regulation:
- Preparing and planning the agenda and papers for Finance committee
- Arranging meetings with the auditors as required
- Preparing and filing the annual return to the charity commissioners
* Risk management
* Management of financial systems and processes
* Fundraising reporting
* Facilities management and overall responsibility for procurement function and processes

Key skills & experience required:
* Professionally qualified accountant
* Up to date knowledge of SORP and prior experience working in a NFP
* Experience working at a senior management level
* Exceptional communication skills, can build rapport with a range of stakeholders
* Clear strategic thinker, can produce analysis and make logical assessments
* Someone who has ideally had wider responsibility out of finance, e.g. procurement/facilities
