This role will drive the effective leadership of the finance function, driving a high performing team and providing strategic focus. Your new role
The Finance Director will be responsible for the effectiveness of the Finance team in Edinburgh with overall responsibility for financial assurance, statutory reporting and effective financial service across the business. The Finance Director will be the catalyst for positive change in the business with drive, strategic focus and setting a meaningful vision for the business to work towards. A collaborative structure, the Finance Director will be in an autonomous role able to bring credibility and trust to the role and complement a successful team through strategic focus.
The Finance Director will lead the growth strategy, systems development initiatives and act as a number 2 as the overall head of function. The FD will be "hands on" enjoying the variety the role presents across finance and across the business wide agenda, creating synergies across wider teams and the finance function. The Finance Director will be responsible for leading budget setting and monitoring including long term financial strategy forecasts and Financial reporting to the Executive Team. You will support and develop an experienced finance team of 9 individuals, providing direction, enhancing capabilities and wider skills so that the function can evolve business partnering capabilities. Change, process improvement and leadership experience are essential for this role to make an impact.
The Finance Director will report to the COO and will play a lead role in preparation and presentation of relevant information for Audit Committee and will develop relationships with budget holders and ensure the Finance Team deliver value to budget holders and managers in a constructive manner.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Qualified Accountant with significant PQE experience in a similar role. You will be an excellent communicator with a genuine passion to add value across finance, create synergies across the functions and will take ownership of the financial and regulatory matters that help the business achieve its objectives. You will be confident in communicating messages to financial and non-financial stakeholders and experienced in Board level engagement and reporting. You will be passionate about business planning, growth and shaping the role around your ideas.
