Job Description

Our client, a highly regarded and dynamic non-profit organisation, currently in a period of ambitious growth, is looking to source a credible and enthusiastic Finance and Operations Director to join it's close-knit team.

This newly created role is intended to bring energy, purpose and substance to the senior team as it pushes forward at an exciting time. It will report to the CEO, with responsibility for the Finance and Admin Teams, as well as oversight of HR; working very closely with the Senior Management Team and Board.

Main duties include:
* Managing a team of Finance Admins and Bookkeeper
* Preparing budgets and completing cashflow forecasts
* Maintaining fixed asset register
* Developing policies and controls
* Preparing statutory accounts
* Producing reports for the Board and attending Board Meetings
* Planning for audit and leading on ensuring effective reporting
* Provide advice and work with the Board of Trustees' Finance and Risk Committee
* Supporting the CEO of strategic development
* Managing risks and evaluating new challenges
* Leading on HR matters, ensuring legal compliance and high standard of management
* Oversee and initiate new contracts, assessing and evaluating contract opportunities and risk
* Ensuring high standards and appropriate compliance across the organisation
* Oversee systems for the measurement of impact, outputs and outcomes
* Building strong relationships with external partners
* Deputise for CEO when required

Key skills and experience required:
* Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA
* Experience of operating at a senior level within an SME (non-profit advantageous but not essential)
* Proven track record managing contract negotiations
* Exceptional communication skills, capable of strong, clear presentations and public speaking
* Likeable, credible and positive nature
* Strong commercial acumen with an analytical mind set
* Empathy for the values and purpose of the sector
