This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Corporate Recovery / Restructuring professional to join a small but growing distressed Investment Fund and become an integral part of its continued growth and success.
The fund focuses on smaller mid-market equity and debt transactions where a business requires both financial and often operational assistance to return to profitability and growth. It operates across sectors and can offer flexible and rapid solutions to commercial issues.
Working closely with the Partner team the role is extremely broad and encompasses all aspects of distressed investment including;
- Origination of potential investments / transactions
- Negotiation of the deal and Investment appraisal
- Financial modelling particularly in relation to cash flow and profit forecasts
- Due diligence
- Preparation of offer letter and documents
- Preparation of contracts and completion of the deals
- Portfolio management – ongoing appraisal and monitoring of the portfolio businesses
As such the successful candidate is likely to be ACA / ACCA qualified with c2-5 years’ pqe and currently working within the Restructuring or Business Recovery team of a Big 4 or Top 10 Accountancy Practice or a leading Independent Consultancy.
Ideally the individual will have a good understanding of formal Insolvency procedures as well as proven experience of business reviews, options analysis, cash flow forecasting, contingency planning and perhaps some accelerated M&A and due diligence skills.
The firm is entrepreneurial and ambitious to grow and there will be every opportunity for the individual to rapidly develop their skills in this area and progress to a senior level.
In addition to the technical skill set above the successful candidate should also have excellent written and oral communication and client handling skills and be a proven team player who can take on responsibility and use their initiative and work autonomously when required.
