The advertised post is to join the divisional leadership team and lead the FRC’s work in developing policy for the respective area.
The Director of Accounting and Reporting Policy leads the team responsible for the FRC’s technical and public policy work covering accounting standards, narrative and wider non-financial reporting. The team also lead on different aspects of influencing the development of international standards, ensuring that they are responsive to the needs of UK stakeholders. The Director represents the FRC on a number of national and international technical groups, engages with stakeholders on accounting and corporate reporting matters and provides technical advice and input to other FRC teams, the Executive Committee and FRC Board on accounting and reporting matters, and plays a significant part in FRC reform, and wider reform of the audit, corporate reporting and corporate governance landscape. The Accounting and Reporting Policy team also includes the FRC’s due process oversight of the UK Accounting Standards Endorsement Board, to support the FRC Board in discharging its oversight responsibilities.
The successful candidate will hold a CCAB accounting qualification and have an excellent grasp of the principles and concepts underlying reporting practice, and strategic knowledge of current and likely future developments. They will have significant accounting and reporting experience and can engage credibly with senior accounting practitioners and other senior stakeholders. Experience of standard setting and influencing is also desirable. They should have externally acknowledged expertise in area of responsibility, and have a strong track record of successfully managing highly technical teams with a focus on collective and integrated delivery
The roles are based in our Central London Office. The post holder should be able to work flexibly to support the team’s activities and also provide cover within the FRC as necessary.
